In my bid to reuse materials as much as possible I have begun to make wonderful use of moth-eaten jumpers. Despite cedar balls, moth balls and other deterrents, the wretched moths still managed to feast upon my lovely Veronika Maine jumper and two DJs jumpers. Why is it they always eat the clothes we like the best?
Anyway after several washes in hot water my holey jumpers shrunk considerably and turned into lovely soft felt which have since become gorgeous brooches. Dad has also contributed a large red holey jumper to the cause. And I'd like to extend the invitation to you - if you have any holey woollen jumpers that you'd like to see reused I'd love to have them and as a way of thanking you I'll make you a lovely brooch from your ex-jumper.
Mosman markets are coming up again on the first Saturday in September and rosebarnett has also provided some gifts and cards to Janssen-Cilag for their fundraising effort to be held this Saturday at Macquarie Centre. They are raising money for East Timor.
The making business is getting busier and my house is in absolute chaos but I must admit that I love it and it is quite addictive. I have acquired some gorgeous Disney Old Maid cards that I am guessing come from the 1930s. I'm thinking of getting them mounted individually for framing. I think they'd make very funky pictures.
