Vintage playing card *art*

Do you remember rainy days with parents or grandparents and playing endless games of snap or old maid? Cards are a pastime with a rich and long history and the most interesting ones (to me at least) are the illustrated children's card games of snap, old maid, crazy eights etc. I've become something of a fan of these over the last year, especially some of the early Disney cards.

Take a look at this one . It's from a 1937 game of Clarabelle Old Maid. Donald is the most interesting card of the pack - he is in his early incarnation before he became shorter and fluffier (and meaner-looking).

I also really like the miniature versions of card games. Using acid-free photo corners or photo dots I have been adhering four of these to an off-white (acid-free) mount for framing. And they have been selling really well. I'm finally getting organised so I can start selling them in my etsy shop.

Etsy only allows items to be sold in American dollars - it is a US site after all - so all items I sell on Etsy have free postage for Australian buyers.
