Have a look at these gorgeous illustrations from 1963. They are from a book called Australian Journey which was part of a series. The book was printed in Italy and the quality of the paper and the print is just amazing.
The two heroes of the story are brother and sister Frank and Tessa who travel the world. They have arrived by ship in Australia to discover this vast continent must be traversed by plane! Luckily the intrepid youngster Frank has a pilot's license.
As this was written in 1963, Frank knows everything while his younger sister is somewhat thick. But I can forgive the sexism for the sake of the beautiful illustrations. They are shown here with an archival (aka expensive!) mat and will soon be for sale either with the mat or framed in a Corban & Blair (100% carbon neutral) frame.
