Well I can't say I wasn't warned... I think Deb's exact words were, "It's two weeks of misery. Don't expect to do anything." She wasn't exaggerating.
After about nine cases of tonsillitis this year Lucy had had enough. So two weeks ago she had her tonsils and adenoids removed. She was so brave and upbeat about it all and came out of the anaesthetic (is that spelled right Amy?) really well. Before we left the hospital her doctor said that she would be ok for the next couple of days and then get really unwell for about a week before starting to pick up. Poor Lucy wasn't ok the next day and so I foolishly thought we might bypass the "getting really really unwell" stage. Wrong. But praise God for painkillers and DVDs and grandparents and understanding little brothers and a wonderful Dad.
While Lucy was sick we borrowed some Harry Potter DVDs from her cousin Hannah. It was the first time Lucy has shown any interest in HP at all and she is now a fan. The best part was talking about the stories with her. We chatted about the mythical creatures and how many of them like the Unicorn, the Stag, the Griffin and the Phoenix are symbols of Christ. We had a long chat about fortune-telling and the dangers of seeking enlightenment and truth about the future apart from God. She is back at school tomorrow after two weeks at home and I'm going to really miss her as is Jake. Elijah is delighted that she is going back. His morning mantra has been, "I can't bear it at school without Lulu."

No arrests from the spelling police. Not that I would have had the heart after what you have been through.
oh dear, you poor thing. I hope Lucy has completely recovered now and is enjoying tonsil free life!
