Much to Lucy's horror Cath and I have been making these gorgeous and quirky hanging decorations from vintage books.
After raiding Vinnies and other charity stores we fold the pages, thread some string or jute or ribbon along the spine, glue it all in place and then voila!
I know it's not really what we should do with books but the ones we select are usually not fabulous reading anyway! And it's very therapeutic. Except when you glue the pages before you thread the jute / ribbon / cotton through. Grrrrr.
Anyway these lovely decorations are perfect for Christmas decorations. After all the Bible says Jesus was the Word! (Corny joke, I know).They are currently available on etsy and we will have them at the Mosman Markets and at our special Christmas shopping night on November 22.
