I love watching / listening out for the postie on his bike - especially when I'm expecting mail. Yesterday it was a lovely package of vintage buttons from the UK and today it was some gorgeous Kokka fabric from Japan. I'm very new to the whole sewing thing and so I'm reluctant to use such lovely materials but these will surely redeem any sewing disasters that I subject them too.
I have a plan for them. Given that our lovely three children have more toys, pencils, crayons and soccer balls than they know what to do with I'm going to do Christmas differently this year. I do feel this intense pressure to load them up with goodies and I don't know where that pressure comes from. Is it me? Or can I just blame society?
Anyway I have a plan - and this is where the fabric comes in. I'm going to make them presents this year. It could all go horribly wrong but I know Lucy at least will be delighted with whatever I make her. So the sheepy fabric is going to become a tote bag for her. The bear/trains fabric is going to be something for the boys and the babushka fabric is for me.

Tim has finally finished HSC marking but he is flat chat at school at the moment. With that and Mum & Dad still in the UK I am feeling the need for a break - and a haircut!

Being the wonderful little man that he is, Elijah declared he would share his tomato with Lucy. The verdict?
Lucy: "Sweet"
Elijah: "Like a proper tomato"
