Well I must have stabbed myself with needles and pins at least 20 times in the last week. I had a largish order for our felt Christmas decorations and being the extra-thumb-inclined sewer that I am I gave my hands a good acupuncture workout. At least I didn't bleed on anything.
The decorations look really lovely. We layer woollen felt shapes together, sandwiching a piece of grosgrain ribbon and securing it all with a vintage button and thread.
But, save a few, they've all gone. The only ones left are some lonely looking circles. My market research tells me that buyers prefer hearts, stars and flowers to circles. But that's ok. For me (and I suspect Cath too) nothing beats a perfect circle.
So today when I should have been cleaning the bathroom and folding washing and being the industrious housewife that I'm not, I was busing cutting out shapes and preparing them for tomorrow evening when I will endeavour to stitch them all together.
Here's what it looks like before the magic happens.

Despite a forecast of rain and a few stray drizzly moments, Saturday was dry! Elijah was particularly excited because he had prayed that God would please put the sun out for mummy's market so Lucy and I can go to Mama's house. Gorgeous boy.
My lovely sister-in-law Kate came for the whole day to help out. She is such a wonder. I had forgotten to brush my hair and put on make-up and Kate looked wonderful and charmed everyone. Love it.
Once again the brooches were a hit as were the mounted vintage cards. The Disney ones all went - they are fabulous - so I'll be scouring the net for more.
